Chuck Borkoski, a member of the Chatham Men’s Club and its Executive Committee, submitted what has been accepted as the theme for this year’s Independence Day Parade.
At the March meeting of the Chatham Independence Parade Committee its membership unanimously accepted Chuck’s suggestion of the parade theme, “Chatham, It’s A Shore Thing”. The theme was selected over numerous other submissions. The Committee appreciated the explanation that the theme pays homage to the town’s many miles of beautiful shoreline and the twist of substituting the name of one of the town’s most beautiful streets (and the parade assembly area) for the word sure.
A member of the Chatham Men’s Club since retiring in town in 2017 Chuck also serves as club Assistant Secretary and chaired its Program Committee from 2018 to 2021. In addition to his CMC involvement, Chuck is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen’s Alliance and a member of the Monomoy Yacht Club’s Board of Governors. He also serves in numerous volunteer capacities at Providence College, his Alma Mater, and received a Honorary Degree from the institution at Commencement Exercises in 2023.
