For the first time in the Chatham Mens Club history, we opted to sponsor a piece of artwork in the Chatham Merchants Association Art in the Park fundraiser.
We were assigned a very talented artist, Bradford Allen, who created the piece shown here. It was on display in Kate Gould Park along with 75 other creations. The public had the opportunity to bid on the entries from late June thru the middle of August.
At the close of bidding Mr. Allen’s creation commanded $3,500, sixth highest amount in the program. The proceeds are evenly split between the artist and the Chatham Merchants Association. The Chatham Mens Club was the recipient of awareness of the Club as we were identified as the sponsor on the piece itself and via the online bidding site which received many hits during the seven week period.
The Chatham Mens Club is proud of its community outreach activities and we look forward to being part of Art in the Park for many years to come.
